A family in Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture, puts on 3D glasses to look at a topographical map of where the International Linear Collider (ILC) would be built in Iwate and Miyagi prefectures, on Monday. The display is one of many events being held to further understanding of the ILC, a next-generation particle accelerator that would recreate the Big Bang and involve thousands of researchers from Japan and around the world. More information on the ILC can be seen here.

Good to see money coming North. Love the little girl's expression at her Dad.

It must have been these guys are wearing winter clothes to the max. Mum must have looked at the calendar and saw it was warm biz season.

I think Mum must have special 3D eyes. Her son and hubby need the glasses but not Mum. Great photo, and like Spud, the little girl's expression is priceless.

Nice. Until now I could only associate northern part of Honshu with Fukushima and Masamune Date. I like to read popular articles about physics and fantasize about different theories, though I'm quite stupid and I usually guess wrong. If I will ever have a chance to visit Japan then I'll definitely visit the region.
