If the shoe fits

Model/actress Natsuki Kato, 26, holds some Keds footwear at a press conference Wednesday to launch the American brand in Japan. Footwear company Chiyoda, which has over 1,100 outlets in Japan, will sell the Keds brand at about 800 outlets such as Shoe Plaza, SPC, and so on from the middle of April. The Spring/Summer Keds Chiyoda Temporary Collection will be sold for 3,490 yen and 4,390 yen on Chiyoda's online shopping website too.

Kato commented: "Keds shoes are flat, making them easy to move around in, and the design is attractive. They are good for places where heels are not appropriate such as cherry blossom viewing. They are an ideal gift for girlfriends."

for tall girl friend(s)

Probably not, since I doubt they'll stock sizes that would fit tall girlfriends. Be surprised if they go over 24.5.

OMG! Keds! I had a pair of those! But mine didn't look like those!

"places where heels are not appropriate such as cherry blossom viewing"

Heck, you can walk around Ueno Park in heels! The top of Mount Fuji would be inappropriate for heels though.

Keds have been around since 1916! Just goes to show you that some brands never die.

Right?

Keds carry most sizes, but not in Japan. Larger and smaller people exist in Japan, but outside a small range of sizes, they are ignored as customers.

It needs to change.

If it's about shoes, it must be for me

Aspara, Pamelot

Do you guys check on Rakuten? I have found many of my shoe pairs in there. There are certain shoestores on Rakuten that tend to carry up to Ladies size 10. Those stores look like they have a very juvenile concept and kind of "Americanized" trend but if you check at their shoe sizes..you'll be surprised! I have seen even Ladies size 11 at times. Just type your size on centimeters and inches and something will probably come up right away. I buy my shoes from Rakuten very often. My husband was the one who taught me. He's a Rakuten "Expert". ;-) I tell you this because I am size 10 indeed! lol

I always found it strange to see shoes marked as S/M/L, and then those are sized 22.5, 23, 23.5. I thought as a size 4 US (21) I would find a lot of options in Japan but most don't go down that small.

She is cute, but she really should eat some of fhose big American hamburgers besides advertising for shoes. She looks borderline anorexic.

I prefer glass slippers, thank you.

WilliB, I too was thinking she looks thinner than in the past. I hope all is well!

cattusJack, that is because you do not have to wear them. I like comfort myself and not fashion. Let the young girls ruin their feet.

People still wear Ked's ?

Do you think Kato-san should wear a tanktop and shorts with that Keds?

She needs to spend sometime as my house guest. She will gain at least 10 kg in no time, I did.

Those shoes look great even on anorexic people.
