Brad in big mov-ember style :)

Brad looks weird. QT makes B-movies that are treated as art but aren't really art.

Oh-oh. Melanie got the sack!

What's with Brad's beard? How does he drink soup?

It's not a beard it's a flavor keeper!!

most Americans think Brad is overrated. his face looks really strange and bloated like a puffer fish.

The men - F-- and F-- for fashion style. The Italian leatherist from yesterday's photo is much better in fashion. Brad and Tarantino, you could do much better.

He looks great for his age. But only that.

Don't know if I can agree with you there. Brad usually delivers a good performance.

I see they have translated the title, ignoring the deliberate English misspellings, into 'Inguro-riasu basta-zu'. Which goes to prove it was only after all a swear-word filter avoidance exercise by Tarantino.

No thinking person is going to enjoy this movie in Japan, but it might pick up a cult following for all the wrong reasons.

"Dunno where or when this is supposed to have taken place, but hey, plenty of gratuitous violence, yay!"

Mittsu, learn a little bit about film before you start spouting out silliness. His movies are not B-movies. Please learn what B-Movies are.

I'm excited about seeing this but it's going to have to wait until I'm in America because I'm sure the German/French scenes won't be subbed in English as the movie will obviously be subbed in Japanese. :(

do "basterds" and "bastards" have different pronunciation?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Love, possibly not in Japanese. But the spelling was how Tarantino got around Western naughty words policies.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The problem with the Japanese title is not whether it properly represents "basterds" (vs. "bastards), but that it is the same as the spelling used in "Busters" (as in "Ghostbusters"), which regardless of the fact that no one will understand what "ingurouriasu" means, sets up a whole different set of expectations...

I thought the movie was funny and interesting! If you are a history buff then you might not like it.

Brad Pitt is an excellent actor. I never watch his girl flicks like meet Joe Black but when he played a gypsey on Snatch he got major credibility. QT also makes excellent movies. Kill Bill 1 and 2 were amazing.

Great film, loved it. Best QT movie in ages in my opinion. Brad Pitt's best performance in a long time too. Still can't believe he was nominated for last year's film about the kid born as an old guy, but Pitt was fun to watch in this one.

You should! Meet Joe Black was an excellent film, not a "chick flick". Pitt really hasn't been in a bad movie.

My apologies I have confirmed the correct term is "Flavor Saver" !!

Poor Melanie Laurent, looks like they had to drag her out of her hospital bed to do this photo shoot.

What is it with Americans needing to re-write history? They didn’t do all that bad in WW2, so why reinvent their part in it? I was recently given (I would never have bought it) a copy of U571 in which a gang of Americans capture an enigma machine from a German u-boat. Sorry people but it never happened, it was the Brits that did it without any help from the US. I just can’t imagine that this nonsense is going to be any better, so unless I’m given a copy I will not be wasting money on some childish fantasy.

For fun - that's why it's called fiction!!

So what you are saying is that films made by America about WW2 are fiction for fun and shouldn’t been seen as historically correct. I find that rather sad given that there must be thousands of exceptional true stories to be told about America’s part in that war. Inglorious bastards isn’t of course one of them.

No, I'm saying that there's a category for historically accurate books called non-fiction. If you want to read those they will be historically accurate and the are plenty of them out there, some made by Americans.

This movie happens to be fiction.

Just read "Berlin Noir" myself. I know that wasn't historically accurate, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Whoops, Grafton, language!!!

At the end of U571 the credits were more properly given. Meet Joe Black was excellent, I thought. (I'm a regular guy.) As to Ing Bs above, the film gave me very mixed feelings. Definitely had strong points, and certainly very weak points, but which outweighed which, I haven't yet decided!

Brad Pitt is so overrated...

Where is Christoph Waltz? He's the freakin star of the show! Without him the movie would have been just good instead of great.
