Island hopping

A sightseeing ship sails through the Kujuku-shima Islands in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, on Tuesday. Kujuku-shima Islands, which means in Japanese "99 islands," is one of the most visited tourist spots in Nagasaki Prefecture.

Nice pic, ought to go there. Don't see the ship but I'll take their word for it. I wonder if you can get a small boat in the water around there.

I'll be in Nagasaki for a week, real soon, and hope I can enjoy the view shown to us here.

It is indeed a beautiful area. I recommend the sunset cruise, in summer.

Was just in the area and had a great in in Nagasaki. People were really friendly, the food was cho oishii and the sites were interesting. Definitely recommend going to Dejima and checking it out even though they are in the middle of rebuilding it. Will be great once finished, the history of the 'lost island' is great to learn about and how things most take for granted in Japan today were introduced back then. Also, I'd recommend a trip out to Hashima aka Gunkanjima.

@knowbetter: Hashima aka Gunkanjima, isnt that place overbooked by now since it was added to the world heritage list i've scrapped it from my places to go.

But yeah I need to make a trip to kyuushuu some day, a lot of hidden gems there

I would love to live there.

What a beautiful scenery of islands! And yes, island hopping is definitely more healthy compared to bar hopping. ;‑)

That area is much nicer than Matsushima. It is a perfect area for a yacht to cruise (except getting caught up in aquaculture here and there) - like in the Inland Sea but less congested by ship traffic.

Gorgeous view! Nagasaki is one of my favourite places

Love this part of the world. Did gunkanjima a couple of years back and could do it again. People throwing up on the way was de rigueur though! Rough seas indeed even on a seemingly perfect winter day.

What a country!
