Readers who live close enough to central Tokyo, if you are having trouble finding an appointment to get a vaccine, there is plenty of availability every day for free vaccination with Moderna vaccine at the Clinic For Tamachi, located in the building right at the Shibaura Exit of JR Tamachi Station. Just bring your city or ward issued ticket or voucher, and completed questionnaire For myself, I used the Shinjuku Home Clinic located near Yotsuya-3-chome Station, 20 min walk from JR Yotsuya Stn. Online calendar nit back up yet -- call 03 6273 2109 -- the doctor said he's expecting more doses soon. It's a tiny 1-doctor clinic. Private clinics accept tickets from any city or ward. Get vaccinated soon. Don't delay.

Surely you pull this information out of your a#%! Get your facts correct before commenting stupid stuff! Japan is a long long way down the list of countries as far as vaccination is concerned! All in all, Japan is rated as one of the worst developed countries for vaccination.

Thank the people for their service

Yup, 5th place behind Qatar (66.27% fully vaccinated, 11% partly), Singapore (71.26% fully, 5.79% partly), Portugal (64.75% fully, 11.51% partly), Uruguay (69.35% fully, 6.25% partly), Denmark (65.99% fully, 8.85% partly), Chile (68.15% fully, 6.19% partly), Spain (63.72% fully, 10.53% partly), Canada (64.22% fully, 8.47% partly), Belgium (66.05% fully, 5.48% partly), Ireland (62.44% fully, 8.75% partly), UK (59.96% fully, 9.77% partly), France (52.58% fully, 15.83% partly), Italy (57.24% fully, 10.25% partly), Germany (57.08% fully, 5.79% partly), US (50.44% fully, 9.03% partly), Brazil (24.06% fully, 33.25% partly), Turkey (39.29% fully, 13.10% partly)...should I go on? Sure, in Japan a higher percentage of the population is fully vaccinated compared to Brazil for instance but that also means that a bigger part of the population has no protection at all. Also this is only part of the countries that have vaccinated a bigger percentage of its population than Japan. If you add more places like Austria, Cambodia or the Dominican Republic, you'll have even more countries with better numbers.
Like Fuzzy pointed out what matters is the vaccination rate per capita and not volume of doses. Or do you expect a country like Spain with a population of less than 50 million to deliver as many shots as Japan does?
Compared to countries like Chile Japan does have the advantage that they didn't use the vaccine from China though, so I guess it's their win there...

@Kentarogajin
Just FYI...

Warning, you're going to run out of fingers and toes before you get to Japan on this list.
Fuzzy
What matters is per capita vaccination rates, not volume of doses. Japan not even close to 5th place.

Tap water is perfectly drinkable in Tokyo. Going to crowded malls whilst infection numbers are surging is not a good idea.

You and your water jugs Ashley. Does make me laugh.

Japan is now way too slow to vaccinate everyone, we should be able to get vaccinated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!!! At this rate more people in Japan will get sick with the Corona Virus and the Delta, Delta Plus, LAMDA variants will only get worse and worse, me thinks.

Mass vaccination with an experimental vaccine never used before on humans with no background whatsoever in the long term...what can go wrong? Stop this madness now and bring the vaccine VLA2001 on the field, this one is much more promising against variants and based on conventional fabrication enough with this broken mRNA tech which barely works, requires booster because well...it barely works and will be probably turned in the future into permanent perfusion.

why aren't they using the playing field? Even with social distancing they could jab thousands an hour

It's mid-August now. That's 3 months until mid-November.
35,000 people divided by 3 months equals 1,166 people per month. Which equals roughly 388 people a day.
Is this a joke? In Tokyo? I mean, that's the vaccination rate of some still developing country with virtually non-existent or limited foreign presence. A developed country like Japan should vaccinate people many times faster than they do now. But we prefer to donate millions of doses of vaccines to other countries and wait for all those whose turn it is now to be vaccinated
Monty
About 35,000 people, limited to those living in Bunkyo, Shinjuku or Minato wards, are able to be vaccinated by mid-November
With both shots?
