Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard gives a speech at a luncheon hosted by the Japan-Australia Business Co-operation Committee in Tokyo on Thursday. Gillard arrived in Tokyo Wednesday for a four-day official visit to Japan. On Saturday, she will tour the tsunami-ravaged Minamisanriku in Miyagi Prefecture, as the first foreign leader to visit the area stricken by the disaster.

Very Impressive. A politician backing up words with action. Those in the Japanese Diet should follow her example and get up there and experience the devastation first hand. Perhaps then the bureaucracy might make way for some action. Congratulations Australia... You will be seen in a new light by the general population.

She is so embarrassing. Humiliating to have her as PM.

Japan has still got the long-term partnership with Australia because Prime Minister Julia Gillard has demonstrated her seriousness over the two nations' interests and supports.
