Women should not box.

Women can box, but women boxers should not date! (smile).

I feel about womens boxing like about abortion: It should be legal, but it should not happen. It just feels wrong.

Women boxers can date but they'll have trouble finding men who don't think they have to prove themselves stronger.

I feel that the benefits of boxing for women is the same as the benefits of martial arts for women. I speak strictly from experience as a young girl growing up in Japan. When I was taking martial arts, I was more toned and physically fit than I have ever been before. It wasn't the thrill or excitement of the training and tournaments that kept me coming back to my martial art classes. My body made me look better and it also helped when I modeled. But the real improvement was with my self-esteem and inner confidence. I was given a real boost and my mind was so much more disciplined. I changed my lifestyle and learned to love my workouts and use to look forward to them. I think boxing is great for improving muscle tone all over the body, chest, back, shoulders, arms and core area. A great cardio workout too for the heart and lungs. Women lack the testosterone to get that bulky bruiser look so as you tone, your body becomes leaner and sexier instead. Thus boxing can give you the same results as martial arts.

She ought to work for the train system - roving enforcer.

I'm all for equality of the sexes, but somehow this picture makes me sad...

If these women want to box - that's their decision. But they might want to keep in mind what Muhammed Ali has looked like the past 20 years. At least in the amateur ranks they wear headgear.

It seems a bit unfair having a man fight a woman!
Anyway, I can't believe Japan allows female boxing.

such events have both customers.

From the names I say two women fought here.

I think that it's awesome that women box. More power to them! An athlete is an athlete is an athlete.

I'm all for equality between men and women, but why do women also have to do the stupid things men do?

I have no problems with women who want to box, now this may come across wrong here as "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder, yet it seems to me that the women boxers here in Japan pretty much all try to look like guys, and unless that is your thing, that leaner, sexier, look just makes them look more like guys than a desirable woman.
Now then if the woman boxing looked like Angelina Jolie, (example only here)...........
