Good to see the PM and President getting along so well.

Kishidas wife doesn't seem like she wants to be there. She should learn to smile for diplomacy or just stay in Japan.

Korean president's wife looks good for a 50yo. Would trade that for tons of 20yo women.

We like Korean foods but I would not want those gold plates. Prefer ceramic and wood.

Don’t worry so much, probabilities are very low that someone forces you to eat from golden plates at any of the worldwide presidential palaces. lol

I spent the first half of Golden Week in Seoul. Buzzing there -and yes, great food. Helps when your missus speaks Korean. Good to see Kishida there in such a convivial atmosphere.

She looks fine. She accorded herself well and she did Japan proud.

Probably Best News in Japan & SK since Covid?

Much needed, even better if they can build sustainable durable important bridges with NK and China, based on shared values and interests.

Food security and production, check, global inflation, check, health/pandemic, check, energy security, check, weapons proliferation, check, climate, check, etc.

Let's get real needed wins together, solutions that address global problems for change, while building a robust integrated non-threatening deterrence.

Age of interference, disruption and instability isn't such a great idea, needs to wind down asap, as it only results in escalation & militarization, not productive healthy activities!

The PM to me looks like he's very concerned about the food and the Pres. looks like he's trying to reassure him...

I was surprised. Not too many good looking first ladies out there BUT man she is definitely in the top bracket.

Good to see Kishida there in such a convivial atmosphere.

He certainly is a few steps up from Abe or Suga.

I think the Japanese PM is just asking what the dish is. There is always some apprehension with these types of dinners and critical not to make a mistake or an insult.

Kim Keon Hee , looks very pretty :)

Good South Korea and Japan step over the shadows of the past, go hand in hand to the future

Good luck for South Korea and Japan

Hello From Thailand ( living there but from the Netherlands )

Looks like the ladies are deferring to the men and allowing them to eat first. I sincerely hope that's not the case. We don't need misogyny in state affairs.

These 2 need to Push Back much harder against US demands, including far more transparency and accountability. Otherwise, global chaos and conflict can easily and quickly land on all our dinner plates!

US diplomatic approach in part founded upon Divide & Conquer, to include 'Friends'. Surely some of Japan SK tensions straight out this US Mid-East failed diplomatic playbook.

Chinas playing it perfectly, master-class Mid-East, OPEC, Global South, etc. chess. High stakes indeed, their double down on Ukraine - blackjack!

Not a big fan of Korean cuisine. Sorry. Prefer just about anything else, and we have lots and lots of Korean restaurants where I live.

The dishes are not gold. It's traditional Korean handforged bronzeware called Bangjja or Yugi.

Hopefully while at this tasty dinner they're discussing relevant polling related to their Peers & Ukraine War;

1) Biden 36% approval, 56% disapproval, WA Post with an overweight of d's vs. r's - slight bias

2) Macron 28%, most other EU politicians under water

3) Public Opinion, all EU countries, against Ukraine War

Below link, EU Parliament, so likely bias, but trends clear E.g. Germany Ukraine War support 2022 peak 87%, most recent April 2023, 47%, 49% opposed. Other EU counties similar trend, most have double digit stronger opposition than Germany, like Spain, Italy, France, etc.

Many EU citizens very concerned about recent US CIA leaked Ukraine Intel and escalation in particular.

I would love to be there instead of JPM's wife. Korean food is delicious. I am happy they can sit together unlike many who cannot til this century.

Why would they be discussing anything serious, and with their wives present?

Hopefully while at this tasty dinner they're discussing relevant polling related to their Peers & Ukraine War;

It's the "picture of the day" with nothing to do with the war in Ukraine.

Such formal dinner occasions offer rare great opportunity to speak freely about state of democracy!

Specifically, growing widespread Opposition Across Democratic World against US NATO led Ukraine Proxy War now putting us at All at Grave Risk.

Support for Ukraine military support in Europe from 2022 peak to last month, dropped 35 to +50 points, depending on EU country, Ditto for US and others, support for war dropping like rock.

Polling below, Democracy shouting out to elected leaders, Stop War insanity, do not Destabilize World.
