My most heartfelt thank you to the Air Force of the Republic of Korea!

Situations like this, we only unite when we have a common goal or a common enemy. All the other "these rocks in the middle of the ocean" is plain bs.

It's ironic that South Korea made this goodwill gesture of aid on the very same day that 90 Japanese cabinet ministers made their ill-will gesture of visiting Yasukuni Shrine.

I would like to see more good-will gestures from both Japan and South Korea, and fewer ill-will gestures from both sides.

Why did SK choose Yasukuni Spring Festival days for this?

What an odd question. The answer is that the earthquake happened a few days before it, and Korea is helping Japan following the earthquake. Thank you Korea.

Way to go ROKAF! You rock!

SK politicians are more grown up? Come on! They are famous for fighting with their fists during parliamentary sessions!

Good to see. Thank you, South Korea.

No need to link this news with Yasukuni. Disaster relief should be isolated from other issues. As a Japanese I never say this in usual political discussions but at this time, Thank you South Korea from my heart!

This is amazing!

Thank you Kankoku (South Korea)! Let's get along well from now on...

SensatoApr. 23, 2016 - 08:31AM JST It's ironic that South Korea made this goodwill gesture of aid on the very same day that 90 Japanese cabinet ministers >made their ill-will gesture of , Yasukuni Shrine.

The South Korean government is aware that the issue of Yasukuni visits is an anti-Japan propaganda tool, part of the China inspired information war against Japan that has no real significance. Especially now that the Park regime has started to move to diminish the anti-Japan sentiment in South Korea. There are Koreans enshrined in Yasukuni too. South Korea has come out against China's activities in the South China Sea, Things are changing in East Asia and best to move on with the times. Nothing wrong with a South Korean military plane bringing assistance. Usually there are hordes of South Korean tourists in Kumamoto, with every tourist site having signs in Korean as well.

Why did SK choose Yasukuni Spring Festival days for this?

Honestly, I hope it is to show to the right wing neo-nazi nutters and their fellow politician fishing for their votes that SK is also willing to help during disaster time.

There we go, C-130 ;)

Extreme rightist in Japan still writing anti-Korean messages in SNS, it's time to they see kind of these news to stop offending, the same I want to say for the extremes anti-Japan in S. Korea. There are times we should understand how happy and lucky to be closer.

I wish Canada would help too! I would love to donate any food, money, toiletries, diapers to the Japanese people!

Never is better if they have to complain the shrine visit at the same time.

I'm sure the people of Kumamoto are in total disagreement with this.

Sensato: "t's ironic that South Korea made this goodwill gesture of aid on the very same day that 90 Japanese cabinet ministers made their ill-will gesture of visiting Yasukuni Shrine."

It would only be ironic if South Korea were providing assistance BECAUSE of the Shrine visits, or Japan intended to stop them from helping with said visits. As it is, they are providing assistance DESPITE the visits because they have clearly taken the high road and know it's not about politics, but about helping people (which I know you know). The sad part is that people on both sides will use this, to an extent, for political purposes, and worse still is that certain Japanese elements will be angry, if you can believe it, that assistance is even being offered and supplied, and they are in a position where they must accept.

Thank you, South Korea! Here's hoping other nations (that have not already) follow suit.

Thank you South Korea! You are great friends to Japan!

I am sorry to say that here in the UK we had a 30 second news clip, on the TV the other day, but we have not had anything since, we could do with an updated going out to tell people that there still is a major problem in south Japan, but a big thank you to SK for sending some vital supplies.

Tina, the two issues are not related. Take a second to consider how appalling your post would sound to the victims of this earthquake.

Thanks, South Korea. Next, China ... China? ... where are you? Oh, China?

That's because SK politicians are more 'grown up' than Japanese politicians. Not too long ago, a politician alleged that the SK comfort women were paid prostitutes.
