Heard the movie really blows hot air. Had some friends see it in the states and their kids were bored... Really sad, considering all the money spent on this thing. Then again, M Night (what the hell does the M stand for???) wouldn't have been my first choice for directors.

... and the football player has WHAT to do with this??

Shyamalan is an overrated director. He scored a fluke hit with "The Sixth Sense" and all his movies have flopped since. He keeps trying to do the "Twilight Zone" thing with all his movies, and that doesn't work.

CoolCali: Despite lousy reviews the film has had a surprisingly good box office in the U.S., at least up until now. Some have speculated that hardcore "Airbender" fans will see it irregardless of the reviews.

Is this what "looking through rose colored glasses" is like?

I just saw it recently ... It was okay. There's 2 more movies after this one.

The greatest critic ever, Roger Ebert, opens his review of this film as follows: "'The Last Airbender' is an agonizing experience in every category I can think of and others still waiting to be invented."

@paulinusa I wasn't referencing any reviews... I was talking about friends who have seen it. Hell, I haven't paid any attention to reviews since the "Star Wars" thrashing by reviewers.

What's up with Shyamalan's hair? I actually thought "Signs" wasn't too bad. But I've decided to skip our on "Airbender" and went with "Kokuhaku" instead. Now there's a powerful movie.

I just saw the trailers, and it looks damn good. I am up for the first day first show in Japan.

What's up with Shyamalan's hair?

He looks like Jeff Goldblum from The Fly. Now there was a movie!

The 3D version is not worth the $10.50 and the movie was bad. I thought the movie would be in 3D through out the show instead it was only on a few scenes. The three main characters name were not the same as the cartoon which was annoying through out the movie. As someone who like the cartoon, the movie failed. I will not go see the second movie,Book of Earth and the third movie, The Book of Fire when it comes out in the coming years. Those that have never seen the cartoon might like it.

Shymaladingdong (as Tarantino put it) has gone downhill since Unbreakable, which was COMPLETELY underrated

Looks like somebody took a pic of the TV screen. I know but still have to ask, wtf is Nagatomo doing there, he should step aside.

My eyes were burned by looking the faces of these radioactive persons. JT, don't let the publishing standards drop THIS low (although it seems that the lightning there may be fault the color can be fixed in 30-50 seconds by a skilled Photoshopper)

@Mr Dog & daisan: Maybe Nagatomo is there because of the soccer term "bend it" as in the movie "Bend It Like Beckham"? That would seem to make some sense to me as one can "bend" a ball to get it to go into the goal, I think. (This coming from someone who knows VERY little about soccer, though.)

Shyamalan's movies are alittle better than Tarentino's. At least he tries to make movies interesting and plot worthy Tarantino made 1 crappy movie too !!!! That nazi movie was terrible !!!! Nicola Peltz is beautiful !!!! She's pretty !!!!

Seen the previous on cable.

Seems to be another high-action/SFX/3D spectacular that uses stereo-types to make a buck. And I guess a rather poor predictable script.

Sadly all to common when we get ANY new technology, people just overuse it.

How is it compared to the acclaimed Avatar: Last Airbender TV series it's based on?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

His 3rd to 6th films all are great. Unbreakable was the best. Lady in the Water was oh so terrible.

I loved the animated series. The movie..well..it was bad. I didn't go into it expecting a whole lot. Just to walk out feeling like I'd seen more of my favorite animated series. Instead I walked out thinking I'd just see the worst acted, directed and written movie in ages. So sad.

Airbender needs more asian actors.
