Seems like everything the Japanese public (the ones who are gerrymandered to have the biggest voting influence) want:

Guts poses, fist pumping, hereditary lineages, giving money to corporations and white gloves while saying they are "protecting the lives of the people of Japan".

Exactly, still the same outdated regime. If only the youth would care to have an opinion and leave Insta for a minute to vote.

Appropriated the Black power sign

white gloves pathetic theater for public, annoying and ulussai, completely meaningless as we have no right to vote or be voted/because of citizenship/.

he is clown, just another clown in line.this is how japanese "demokrashi" looks like.

meaningless as we have no right to vote

Indeed. I can't vote in my home country as I've been away too long (which is perfectly fair), and I can't vote here either. So I don't have a vote anywhere in the world, not even in the country in which I live, work, pay taxes, and have my family. So to me elections are nothing more than meaningless noise and a deepening of my alienation from the society I live in.

Don't be so critical of the Japanese way of election campaigning. They are held peacefully and fairly for all. Love the fist pumping from our PM!

I don't know if this is amazing satire or just unintentional genius phrasing.

Anyway very apropos.

True. And to really rub it in, the local LDP candidate in my area runs on completely unnecessary anti-gaikokujin rhetoric.

@dagon Well, the username is The Onion in Japanese,so I suppose all their posts are satirical...

My little lad is riding his bike around, parping his horn and shouting 'Arigato Gozaimasu'.He has a promising political future, methinks.

All show, no substance. You get the government you deserve. Citizens who don't bother to vote have no right to complain.

Rating for the candidates on the photo:

No5 (from the left): the guy is just a decoy, the photograph didn't bother to get him into the frame. Forget.

No3 (guy in the middle): not able to throw his clenched fist in the air in unisson. Forget.

No2 (from the left): tries much to look cool but still wears a suit in the middle of summer. Zero credibility. Forget.

No1 (from the left): cool biz-attitude, a real environmentalist. He's got my vote.

Wait!!! No!!! No 5 (from the left): a woman! She has to be some kind of former idol or TV announcer. She's the one!!

The worst being that judging from the people that end up sitting in parliament (ex-talentos or personalities, TV announcers, successful wrestlers, failed actors, idols, etc), I'm afraid that I'm not even that far away from the how some voters rationalize their choices...
