All show, no substance. You get the government you deserve. Citizens who don't bother to vote have no right to complain.

@dagon Well, the username is The Onion in Japanese,so I suppose all their posts are satirical...

My little lad is riding his bike around, parping his horn and shouting 'Arigato Gozaimasu'.He has a promising political future, methinks.

So to me elections are nothing more than meaningless noise and a deepening of my alienation from the society I live in.

True. And to really rub it in, the local LDP candidate in my area runs on completely unnecessary anti-gaikokujin rhetoric.

Don't be so critical of the Japanese way of election campaigning. They are held peacefully and fairly for all. Love the fist pumping from our PM!

I don't know if this is amazing satire or just unintentional genius phrasing.

Anyway very apropos.

Guts poses, fist pumping, hereditary lineages, giving money to corporations and white gloves while saying they are "protecting the lives of the people of Japan".

Exactly, still the same outdated regime. If only the youth would care to have an opinion and leave Insta for a minute to vote.

Seems like everything the Japanese public (the ones who are gerrymandered to have the biggest voting influence) want:

Guts poses, fist pumping, hereditary lineages, giving money to corporations and white gloves while saying they are "protecting the lives of the people of Japan".
