Participants look at Dream City which was built by about 100,000 pieces of Lego blocks, during a Lego event in Tokyo. About 1,000 children and their parents participated in the event.

Good way to spend family time. Glad to see there is some good news around.

I wonder how many little pieces went missing to light fingers at the end of the day? What a temptation all that lego just sitting there!

Hmm, looks just like a typical Japanese city; no urban planning, zoning, or design and absolutely no aesthetic attributes...

I wanna live there

Why are there boats in the streets? That would never happen in my Lego Land.

All seems rather simple these days with video games and the rest, however, as a child I spent many hours playing with my ever-expanding Lego set. I particularly liked a semi-trailer that I was given one year, however, I was never really interested in the Lego men (which are a somewhat more recent invention).

Not very pretty but you have tom admire the effort that went into it

Obviously no; I'm crticising the unsightliness of (non-Lego) Japanese cities.

Fascinating, no doubt !!

when I was nine I went to such an event. 25 years later I take my son. Great to see the basics never lose their appeal. You can buy the most amazing toys for kids but they will be bored fast. A train set and some lego blocks are all they really need. Its all Papas need to when playing with son.

What is the plural of Lego? 'Legos', 'Legoes', or is it 'pieces of Lego'?

In any respect, the the amount of Lego there seems quite high.

USNinJapan2 -- I undertsood, even if thepro didn't. Heck, just look at all the greenspace these kids have put ON TOP of buildings in their city. That doesn't exist at all in reality and shows just how much smarter the kids are.

obviously you are completely wrong in what you say.

Maybe lego is the most important toy for a kid to evolve into more productive adult rather than turning into most of us. ;D

Boats on the street, he was simulating a portion of legoland after a typhoon.

At least there are more trees than usual in Japan. haha

I think Japanese cities are well planned, way better than a lot of other countries.

I grew up with Legos too, but I had to build my own semi-trailer. It wasn't very big, just four pegs wide, but naturally I thought it was an exact replica of the BJ and the Bear Kenworth and trailer. :D
