Free hour of eikaiwa for Abe.

Ha! this is nuts.

Abe has to be thinking: This hyper-energetic tech geek is going off in English on me while my cabinet members are quitting, scandals are killing my administration again, Japanese firms are angry about the yen's strength, and we are wearing the same suit! Oy vey!

Nasty pair.

I bet they got on very well.

Is the caption, "Like me," meant to refer to Zuckerberg or Abe?

Abe: "Just finished watching The Social Network."

Zuck: "Oh yeah, I've never watched it myself."

Abe: "You should see the scene where the idea for Facebook was sparked by the lame parties put on by the Jewish fraternity. Only nerdy Asian girls at those parties. It was a knee-slapper."

Zuck: "Hey, hand me your translator's Google glasses so I can watch it."

InJapan,

Titanium: does it hurt you that Line is Naver Corp. (ie. Korean)?

Not really! It's the same thing with playing pachinko. Majority of pachinko parlors are owned by Zinichi Koreans.

Twitter is lame

I can't blame you! Twitter is realy not for the aged! Stick to Mark's Facebook, I guess.

BTW, His visit was a promotion on a new function/feature for FB that lets family members know they're safe in any given natural disaster occurrences. Nice feature, but again, FB isn't really that much big in Japan and some countries like South Korea. Too bad Mark!

Zuckerberg: I saw a spider in my hotel room that was this big. Abe: You need to spend more time outside, your complexion is looking unhealthy.

Sorry Mark, your appeal to PM Abe won't change the fact that most japanese prefer Twitter and Line than FB.

Don't just sit there and listen to the boy. Take notes for pete's sake!

Is Abe trying to get FB to spy on the activities of its users in Japan? Better not criticize Abe on FB.

titaniumdioxide: "Not really! It's the same thing with playing pachinko. Majority of pachinko parlors are owned by Zinichi Koreans."

Ummm... no, you bragging about Line and it being used all across Asia (or Kakao talk to a lesser extent) is not the same as gambling. A more apt comparison would be the fact that Lotte is also Korean, which makes it funny when Japanese claim SKorean (Lotte) snacks copy those of Japan.

"I can't blame you!"

I know you can't! :)

"Twitter is realy not for the aged! Stick to Mark's Facebook, I guess."

Twitter is just not that great, plain and simple. No one uses it to follow friends and checks in regularly to do as such compared with Facebook. Where Twitter IS a little more interesting than FB is for following celebrities and other big names and seeing their updates or posts. Beyond that it's not so much an age thing as it is an inability to pay attention to anything for more than a couple of seconds. Oh, and I really don't use Facebook often save for keeping in touch with family.

"Nice feature, but again, FB isn't really that much big in Japan and some countries like South Korea. Too bad Mark!"

Is FB really popular in South Korea, or is this just more bashing on your part? Usually Korean-made stuff is more popular in Korea than anything else, so if Line is popular here it's like more popular in the company responsible for the branch that created it, unlike homegrown stuff here like Mixi, which everyone has ditched in droves to make profiles on... you guessed it... FACEBOOK! Nice try, though.

In any case, I couldn't really care less about Mark meeting Shinzo or what the two talked about. One is a successful and self-made business person, the other is a lout that inherited his riches and success, and is about to fail his job for the second time.

please implement a dislike button on facebook, the "like me" one has no use anymore. FB is BS. rip.

Mark and his wife have donated $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control Foundation, an entity established by Congress to aid in combating the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. What other CEO have donated anything for any cause? Mark actually likes Asian culture. He is married to Chinese-American lady, who is a pediatrician.

Mark: you see, Abe, it's not just about being born with a silver spoon in your mouth when it comes to running something, nor is it about being far too obvious when trying to appeal to people, like with your hiring of women. And you don't make a secrecy law, Shinzo! You have them sign up to tell you everything and sneak in new ways they give up their privacy with updates, and have others reort wrongdoings. Oh, and Mixi's dead, Abe.

Titanium: does it hurt you that Line is Naver Corp. (ie. Korean)? Just curious. And Twitter is lame.
