As an American.... I'm quite disappointed that the USA lost again. Heck... there are probably some years when the final should have not even included the USA to begin with... but that said. Congrats to the Japanese winners.

Congratulations! Hats off to each of the players, their coaches and all who've supported and encouraged them along the way. Well done!

Omedetou gozaimasu! And what great uniforms, too. (No doubt Mr. Sano had no hand in the design. LOL!)

Congratulations & what a comeback! Although if this was a Japanese sports page, they would have to mention Kiyomiya (little brother of the Koshien star & #15 in the photo)!

Always funny how Japan was in the Champion game 7 of the last 10 years yet doesn't even reach the front page of the sports page. Congrats to Japan!

Congrats Japan! Great comeback! Already gave up 10 runs in the very first inning alone yet clawed themselves back up from a big hole and then some!
The US side of the bracket is typically the more difficult road to the final since they don't get to face usual teams from Africa, Middle East, Europe, Australia, etc. but instead beat each other up.
No, all the LLWS teams have the same design.

What a great picture. Congratulations! I guess all that practice paid off.

As a non American i am glad Japan won hopefully teach America/ns a bit of humility for a change, but i doubt it.
nakanoguy01
what an assinine remark. how the heck do you know that the american kids/team had no humility? so i guess you believe in racism, too?

I can see some Tiger cub amongst them

Congratulations to the Japan team.

Well deserved. The Japanese team out-played the U.S. one, from right there in Pennsylvania, in front of over 42,000 fans rooting for their opponents. And they did it by out-slugging the U,S. kids, which is not usually Japan's strength. They may not be the best, or certainly te biggest athletes there, but they were the best players and team.

Fantastic win after a staggering 1st inning.

@Nakanoguy Did you mean asinine? Plus my comment was not regarding the team oh American is not a race its ethnicity.
therougou
Well they win it a lot so I think the USA would be used to it by now, but these are just kids anyway.
lol. My father found it amusing how big high school ball is here in Japan. I bet many Japanese would find it interesting how popular little league is in the USA.
Obviously not Japan's strength overall, but at this level I think they have always knocked in a lot of runs. Haven't watched it recently though.

YEAH ! WORLD CHAMPS ! ! ! Those boys were just awesome ! After one inning, they were down 10-2. They then proceeded to hold PA to just one more run, while they scored 16 ! Omedetou !

Nice!
Now how about a Japanese cricket team? An adult sport.... ; )

As the coach said after the first inning," It isn't over till it's over." Congratulations

That's because being the biggest athlete has nothing to do with baseball so it doesn't even need to be mentioned. Congrats Japan!

Congratulations to both teams.

Congratulation on winning this title. Is this a team from Tokyo or do they have players from all over Japan?
dbsaiya
Congratulations boys, no losers in this game, only winners. Both sides learned a valuable lesson that they will hopefully carry with them into adulthood. Never give up, and to never let down...keep enjoying sports and best wishes for the rest of your life.

Congrats Japan! I hope the US will win next year though.
