yes go gatsu ningyou, tango no sekku is celebrating boys when hinamatsuri festival of dolls momo no sekku in March3 is celebrating girls. In fact they have two children days one in march for girls and one in may for boys. Don't worry both genders are celebrated equally.

Except the 5th of May is a public holiday and the 3rd of March isn't. So not really equal.
