Climb, read, reflect. Good picture.

For those wishing an easier way to get up to Hie Shrine, go to the main entrance at Akasaka Mitsuke and veer to the right as your going up the hill. It's a climb either way, but this way is easier. Then when you leave, walk around the side of the shrine (to your right), past some smaller shrines and the storage places for the omikoshi (portable shrine), then down this long flight of steps with the torii gates.

It's a beautiful and interesting shrine to see ...

The walk is rewarding for the view of Tokyo as well as for the shrine itself

Reminds me of Kyoto's Fushimi Inara. Thanks, JT, I now have another uphill climb to look forward to.

At first glance,I thought it's Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Kyoto. It's similarly beautiful nonetheless.I'd love to go and visit.

When I was a child, I always day dreamed the steps would be an escalator some day. Had to keep my mouth shut. Girls were not supposed to have opinions in my time in Japan, then.
