McDonald's Pokemon calendar

McDonald's Japan earned a Guinness World Records mention this week for the biggest-selling calendar. Their Pokemon Calendar 2010 has sold almost 1.5 million copies since its release, making it the world's best-selling calendar according to Guinness World Records. On Nov 5, the record was certified by Guinness, which confirmed that the company sold 1,476,442 copies. The wall hanging calendars sell for 300 yen at every McDonald's store in Japan and feature original illustrations from the popular video game and anime series. There is also a set of 182 Pokemon stickers for marking important days and the calendar features a newly added space for writing notes. The 2011 calendar goes on sale at McDonald's stores nationwide from Dec 5.

That's every second day! Oh I'm just so busy!

Meanwhile, doesn't look like Mr and Mrs. McDonalds there eat much at their own stores. Pokemon on the other hand could cut back a bit, but look how happy it is.

Pokemon is a joke.

They now got some 800+ monsters, including 3 forms as they age. Guess what Pikachu has been stuck in the middle form from the beginning.

Luckily my son is getting out of the Pokemon phase, he hardly touches his DS now and that includes Pokemon White/Black.

These days he prefers Monster Hunter 3, etc on the Wii, same for most of his buddies.

He also outgrew Mcd(Happy Meals) and now refuses to eat there. Good Boy. ;)

Is there also a Guinness record for the number of obese kids McDonalds have created?

I did a picture (explain it) EFL textbook in which I used some images based on Guinness World Records. After a lot of research I found that a lot of "records" were just nonsense. It has become more of a commercial gig now than before. Sad. This particular incident proves it. The world's biggest calendar. Who cares!

Who cares? Pokemon spawn from eggs so no mammal atributes to them. ;)

Lets look at how the Guinness book of records started.

Was started by a bar-tender that kept records to settle disputes in his pub, so a lot of fluff is expected. Later he published his notes in book form rest is ..

Wow... 10 posts and not a single comment on the lady on stage, holding a copy of the calendar. Pleasantly attractive, filling out her pants immaculately, just a hint of a smile...

You mean like the echidna and platypus?

Donald is Ronalds evil twin. Just like Ash in Evil dead. In fact Satoshi from Pokemon is called Ash in America!!!! coincidence? I think not.

The one holding the calendar is a GUY. Now if you were talking about the lady holding the CLIPBOARD... The crest on her jacket looks like it's the Guinness logo, so I guess she's the token Guinness representative for this gig.

From left to right: Nice eye-candy, McDonalds worker-drone, evil killer klown, evil killer Pokemon
