People hold a moment of silence in front of what is left of a disaster control center in an area devastated by the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami, in Minamisanriku, Miyagi Prefecture, on Sunday. Through silence and prayers Sunday, people across Japan remembered the massive earthquake and tsunami that struck the nation one year ago, killing just over 19,000 people and unleashing the world's worst nuclear crisis in a quarter century.

One year on and not forgotten. My condolences to all victims, the families, the school teachers, the train passengers, the bus drivers, the firefighters....
