A woman walks past a model of Godzilla at Tokyo Midtown on Thursday. The model is being displayed to mark Hollywood's "Godzilla" remake and the 60th anniversary of the first "Godzilla" movie. "Godzilla," directed by Gareth Edwards, opens in Japan on July 25.

Where is Mothra? In this day and age, it is quite acceptable to have a bad monster to boo and a good monster to cheer, Tokyo has little to fear. To the rescue comes Mothra!

Big G does look a little lonely. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the debut of King Ghidorah and the 40th for MechaGodzilla. Why didn't they give him some other famous companions to play with?

Should be a permanent feature.

Almost soiled myself when I cam round the corner and saw this!

An icon created to remind the horror of nuclear terror...

Agree with taj - keep it there. Tourists will flock to it like Mothras to a flame.
And someone buy him a gym membership to get rid of that belly fat.

If they make a permanent one it should be more like the classic design seen at Ginza. While it's fantastic it isn't Japan's Gojira... it's Gojira's American cousin ^_^
I also agree about honouring his most famous playmates... Mothra, Anguiras and King Ghidorah.

Gamera...and Mechagojira..

Clearly this is the 'heavier American version' judging by just how far he sunk into the lawn when he stepped off the pavement.
I will name him "Drybuu-thru Gojira" :P

I whole heartedly agree with Taj. It should become a permanent part of the park.

Not to criticize the Hollywood version too much. . . but what's with the large belly, no-neck small-head of Godzilla?!! Even his "roar" sounded too mechanized in the preview CMs. I don't think i'm gonna like what they did to the fella too much. . .
