Sylvester Stallone, 64, and Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren, 52, pose on the red carpet prior to a talk show event with media and fans to promote their action film "The Expendables" at Shibuya AX on Sunday. Stallone, who was last in Japan two years ago, told the audience his biggest enemy was lack of time to do all the things in life he wanted to do. He advised young people not to let life pass them by. "The Expendables" opens in Japan on Oct 16.

Amazing how many people want to take a picture of the back of thier heads. Snoopy doesn't seem impressed at all.

Snoopy sweater? Thousands of Japanese with cameras? Dolph Lundgren? Welcome back to the 80s Doc.

I repeat my question of last week -- How come Stallone is let into Japan despite his pleading guilty for trying to bring HGH into Australia a few years back, and Paris Hilto gets the boot? As usual, japanese "justice" is totally inconsistent. By the way, couldn't a guy with his money get a suit jacket that fits him? Why is he pulling it so tight around his waist?
alladin
Stallone sure looks great for his age.
lovejapan21
alladin, wait till you watch the movie, his face looks like its made of wax!! I couldnt watch the movie just because of all the plastic on his face! and the story was terrible. Bottom line, He looks horrible!!

herefornow, there's a big difference between the two substances.
actually, it was funny watching these guys visit Sumo as Koni-chan's guest.

telecaster -- a drug conviction is a drug conviction. Both are illegal and can be potentially hazardous to your health. Besides, one could argue that Stallone's trying to smuggle an illegal substance into another country is far worse than getting caught with some coke in Sin City.

The old pull the jacket to show the size of the shoulder and arm trick hey!!! I'd love to know what they were thinking watching the sumo.

Answer: The old guys who run this country despise Paris Hilton's selfish, "the rules don't apply to me" attitude. Plus, many of them are fans of Stallone's movies and he is seen as a good guy who is friendly and down to earth and shows respect for Japanese customs and culture.

Combination of roids, HGH and truckloads of plastic surgery!

Paris is on probation. In otherwords, she is serving her time outside bars now as we speak. I am sure she wont have any problem comming in after a year or so.

Quick, someone notify the authorities, someone has stolen Sly's wax figure from Madame Tussuads and shipped it to Japan.
Ok, now I know why he looks like a wax double of himself.

I must break you!!!
xpompey8
@ noirgaijin, yes I thought the same! He doesn't look real one bit. Maybe it's all that botox.

I stop watching Sylvester right after "The Specialist".
Crap cliché.

You guys are ruthless! Give the old man a break. I grew up being inspired by Rocky movies and Stallone despite what you may think of him has been a great inspiration for making those films.

I've actually seen the Expendables and it wasn't half bad. Felt like they misused Jet Li's incredible talent though.
manfromamerica
Stallone rocks! And MIT grad Dolph Lundgren is pretty good too.
gamera
The Expendables was good. Check it out.

Good advice from Sly.

Haven't seen Lundgren since the movie shop near my house, that carried a section just for him, went out of business (wonder why!). Anyway, I'm not expecting much from The Expendables, but I'll see it anyway just for fun. Stallone sure had some funny things to say about Jean Claude Van Damme when he turned down a roll in the movie.

Two great looking and lovely men. Thank you JT! And, SS and DL, thanks for checking out sumo and giving a nice PR bump there to sumo and Hakuho. I think I will go enjoy your new movie.

Miffy, I know smart guys probably don't turn you on, but what really impresses me about these two is that they are well accomplished in ways you might not think.
Dolph has an IQ of about 160 and has really hit the books. Not sure if a doctorate, but he has a Masters in Chemical Engineering and was a Fulbright Scholar at MIT (he quit after two weeks). He speaks 4 languages fluently and another three... well... better than Stallone speaks English. Dolph was also a freaking Ranger in the Swedish army.
And Stallone, who you would think would be dumb as rocks... Almost got another Oscar for Rocky... for best screenplay! He wrote the movie. In fact, they were going to get someone else and he told them they couldn't use his movie if he was not the star. Well. OK!
I think they should settle down and have kids together.

That myth has been busted. Google it. It is not true....and you fell for it.

I have to laugh at all the comments about "wax dummies" and plastic surgery when the photo is so blurry you can't see clearly enough to criticize ANYTHING. Of course, that doesn't stop people from criticizing anyway.

"The Expendables"
I'll bet it's been decided that the main characters are to be left to die if saving them jeopardizes the mission.

Stallone's movies might be cliche but they are at least cliche with style and charisma. That are two traits that most younger actors from today completely lack.
noborito
I wonder if they watched it on the airplane over. It's only 5 or 6 months old.
GaijinVader
Don't they look like wax-works models or is just me?
Patricia Yarrow
Klein2, I don't know where you get the idea that smart men are not appealing to me. Thanks for the information on Mr. Lundgren. I am quite aware that Mr. Stallone is a thoughtful man who deserves all awards.
