This weekend I am dreaming of Yukichan.

Ha!

Seriously, some of these politicians are just staying long enough to get a comfy pension -- possibly even Hatoyama. Think about it -- they take a beating in the public eye for about six months, then they retire with increased benefits because of the job they "held".

It's all pensionable time.

I like to see politicians snoozing. When they're asleep, I know that for a little while at least, they aren't robbing the taxpayer or wrecking the economy.

They are all often caught sleeping on the job. In fact I would say most companies in Japan it is ok to sleep. I had one job that they actually made an announcement to wake up. Japanese culture. Who's going to fight it.

No, no, you don't understand. When I was a student at a Japanese university, professors sometimes appeared to be asleep during our presentations. However, my classmates said that closing your eyes was a sign that you are listening very seriously. True, sometimes a slight snooring sound would be heard, but that must have been REALLY serious listening.

He's thinking..."8 months = around 240 days until I get my 8 months"...can't you just feel the enthusiasm?

Pretty good considering he's upright. I give him a 9.7 for balance and a 1.5 for difficulty

That said, wow... someone needs to come close his mouth for him.

Talk about catching flies...

The Construction Companies that support the puppet master have not paid him enough to stay awake, only enough to secure his 'attendance'...

Geeeeeez, let's hope and pray this guy doesn't become PM of Japan!!!

Someone should tell the Emperor.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Well, SOMEONE has to take Kan's position as meeting dozer since he's PM now. He can't very well sleep during his OWN speeches, can he?

Anyway, I agree... these guys ought to be ashamed.

Power napping?

You mean goffing off?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Power napping is considered an acceptable form of behavior in J-land. It could be worse. A least he's not bothering anyone as he usually does.

Thinking of Ginza hostess clubs later tonight!

He must resign from all his duties. It's just a shame; the country is in a deep crisis and he dozes off... just unbelievable this waste of tax money.

Its a real shame japanese people. Don't let them kick your head that way!

I guess he didn't find Prime Minister Kan's speech very interesting. I wonder how long the photographer keeps her camera aimed at people in the Diet in order to get a shot like this.

What a classic photo, a suitable caption would be "Your Taxes Working For You."
