No happy faces in this photo.
just-a-guy
Noda: China bullies me, China bullies me....... Obama: OKOK...darling, call 911 if you need help...I have got to go sweetie........geez, I have had that enough!
kansaifun
excellent photo... totally speaks for itself..
President Obama saying get lost to that Japanese guy, Hato...Kan...Whoever.....
nath
Obama: Back when you know how to speak in english! Noda: いうことは分らないな。(iu koto wa wakaranai na)。
LOL!!!^_^
A lots of funny situation can be created with this picture. ROFL!!!
Serrano
In spite of this bad photo, Noda and Obama had a positive, productive meeting.
LFRAgain
This is the best photo AP could offer for this meeting between two heads of state?

Obama : "Next"
Funny stuff if it weren't the truth. Next number in line, 44! 44!
anglootaku
Bad photo..
TrentonGaijin
Doesn't look terribly cordial.... Hope this photo isn't a portent of future relations....
miyazawa3
yes so you can put a better picture ... i mean they are sitting together or greeting each other ...or both smiling. what is this picture...? Whats wrong with them....? not happy ending...looks like?
Harry_Gatto
Quite. This is just JT rabble-rousing. The photo, on its own, means nothing, only what was happening in the 1/250th of a second for which the shutter was open. To have any understanding of their feelings at that time needs a short movie.

Absolutely correct Zichi

Come on ExportExpert. You and Serrano want the world to see only the best moments? This is real. That's their honest reaction. This is how they stepped away from each other. You want JT to show you want you want to see. I want JT to show us as much of the truth as they can get their hands on. I only hope that Barack asked Noda about the Hague Convention in the backroom and the abducted children. Perhaps they couldn't come to terms. Either way, pictures lead to speculation. A candid shot is much better than a propaganda machine.
So to JT. I think you chose a great photo and it was right of them to post it. That's the news!! Love that unfiltered stuff.
ExportExpert
Terrible photo and terrible choice by JT to post it.
nath
Obama: How are you? Noda: Eto...ehh....nan te iu...eto..I fine thank you, and you?
Serrano
How about replacing this photo with one of them shaking hands or something?
ActionThisDay
It does look like a couple that just broke up over dinner.
Kapuna
Hopeless, helpless, clueless.
NetNinja
I love it. Great photo.
They both have disasters to deal with.
Hey Noda, what's in that lump in your nodo? Seriously, Noda looks so rejected. Obama is buttoning up like. "It's over between us"
cactusJack
This is a pretty poor photo...in composition and clarity.
Badge213
What kind of tie is Noda wearing? gar
beangry
Well, Noda is Obama's lackey and knows it. He should wear a dog collar round his neck,
"Japan's foreign and domestic policies, owned by US and Obama"
Sad isn't it? But that's is what he is saying when he false US foreign policy the "cornerstone" of Japan's policies. When will my Japanese brothers become independent? Can you "walk like an Egyptian" or only jump to Obama's dog whistle? Insulting? Yes, you insult yourselves by agreeing - willingly- to do whatever he US tells you. Where is Japanese democracy? He has to bow to the US for approval, not his own people. How sad.
Christina O'Neill
Is that a smirk on Obamas face?
yasukuni
Looks like they got on just swimmingly.
hatsoff
Terrible photo - caught them for a fraction of a second as they looked down and turned away. Usually these photos get binned, but they can be good for encouraging useless speculation about how they must be feeling. Do any posters here feel manipulated?
gogogo
Obama wouldn't have any idea who the JP PM is.
ActionThisDay
Noda: I guess "maybe next time" for the Security Council seat. Obama: If I got a dollar for everytime the name Futenma was brought up...
bentheredonthat
such a poor choice for pic of the day. the big O has his eyes closed and we noda isn't even facing the camera. whaaaaat?!
Konsta
Well, people at JT are professionals and realists. The more I read it, the more I feel it. The photo fully corresponds their other article "Obama, Noda discuss post-quake aid, Futenma issue", where every following paragraph is more and more depressing. The photo just reflects the talks.
paulinusa
AP probably took a hundred photos. I have to think Japan Today chose this unflattering one.
Alex80
I guess this photo represents very well what they are to me: the leaders of two hopeless countries.
Serrano
This photo gets the "Bad Photo Choice" award.
nigelboy
Obama "This guy won't be back"
Noda "Omae ga yuna."
telecasterplayer
You had to pick the photo in which they looked like opposing divorce lawyers?
Konsta
Obama looks like "I can't help you", while Noda looks pissed.
Serrano
Why this photo of these two people facing away from each other?
