Re: Picture of the Night

Interesting shot. A ship lit up at night is somehow heartwarming.

The Japan Coast Guard is first rate. Their ships and crews are among the best in the world. And, the service they provide to Japan and the international community is vital and very much appreciated. Thank you for protecting Japan and those of us who venture to sea.

The Japan Coast Guard is a subdivison of the National Police Agency and under supervison of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; rather than the miliary as is the international norm.

Ironically this gives the JCG more room to operate freely and use force on intruders.

They have more "real combat" experience than the JMSDF.
