What happens in Japan is Japan's business.

A lot easier for them to achieve something in their own country but I doubt they really care about dolphins or slightly less cute cocks, just looking for a bash Japan chance.

Let's not talk about cute cocks for just one night Mt K

It would be better and more productive if these people from the Philippines did something against the horrendous blood sport of cock fighting that is so popular in their own country.

Maybe they are. They are probably against needless cruelty to all animals. They might be people whose morals aren't hindered by national or political allegiances.

This is probably a bit much for you to able to grasp though.

i bet this article isn’t in the Japanese section but still surprised it is even in the English one! Well done JT!

Shouldn’t they first protest those rituals of bloody cross nailing of humans on their pseudo Christian festivities there? That’s similarly disgusting and doesn’t affect dolphins but own kind, severely hurting human beings.

Stop interfering with Japanese culture!

Finally with gaiatau (outside pressure) they may decide it's not worth it (reputation idecides everything here) and stop this barbaric practice.

for sure. But the problem is that some people protesting is not outside pressure. Pulling out of trade agreements and/or scrapping of Visa free travel for Japanese citizens, or something of that caliber would be. And since no one is prepared to do that, these protests, unfortunately will yield very little if anything at all.

We know that Dolphins communicate and seem to think, live in family groups and work together and may have 'intelligence' that well overlaps the lower end of the Human intelligence distribution. 'Hunting' these individuals is more like murder than predation.

Given how we are decimating the fauna of our ecosystem and when pathological dentists and useless relatives of politicians are allowed to murder creatures much more valuable than themselves FOR FUN (how many lions or elephants can one EAT?), it is high time we allow 'hunters' to hunt each other. In fact, exclusively each other. No more swishy playing with paintballs, live ammo with hunt classes determined by caliber of weapon. I believe it would be wildly popular and would be a WIN-WIN for everyone else including our declining wildlife. And, in competitions, champions would be HEROES like so many 'heroes' before them. War is accepted amongst us as a 'normal Human behavior' so why not 'voluntary war' between individuals rather than the high tech slaughtering that 'hunting' is today? Let's make 'hunting' MEANINGFUL and what better way than 'hunter' and 'prey' having a more level playing field?

Then reemploy the hunters as tour guides and have a camigan to promote the beautiful beaches of the area to overseas tourists when Japan reopens (properly).
