Olympic overnight camp

Parents and children take part in an overnight camp experience at the proposed site for the Tokyo 2016 Bayside Olympic Village. The planned village will allow athletes to reach 70% of the venues within 10 minutes. It will have 17,000 beds, large rooms, free-wireless Internet connection, and international digital TV available in every room to cater for every athlete and official.

Global support for the city chosen,I think is important.

I don't think the city chosen is important at all. Most people just watch it on TV, and for the sporting events, not the city they are in.

Japan doesn't deserve the Olympics given its poor international policies, institutionalized discrimination and a long list of other failings in international standings.

More so Tokyo does not need the Olympics as it should be spending money on hospitals, elder care and long term public works projects instead of filling the pockets of Ishihara and his friends with contruction kick backs and institutionalized corruption.

Not to mention the mess it will make of Tokyo for years to come and the loss of greenspace to future empty venues.

Light a candle... Make a wish... Blow it out... Keep dreaming Tokyo!!!

That's it? Seems high tech but I'm in Singapore right now and they have this everywhere for free already. Singapore is a WIFI Free Zone. Can go anywhere for free. These kids can camp there now, but soon that nice open area with trees etc. will be turned into another bleak cement zone. I say "NO" to Tokyo for the Olympics. We wouldn't even thing of New York for the games, why would we consider Tokyo with even less space. "NO! NO! NO! No games in Tokyo"

I would love it if we had the Olympics in Tokyo. I'm a big sports fan and would really like the opportunity to actually watch the Olympics live, once in my life. I only live about an hour and a half from the city, but I think the tickets for the venues will be expensive. Yes! Yes! Yes! We want the games in Tokyo!!!!

2016 Olympics in Japan would be perfect.

Security is a big decider, so Rio may be out.

Tokyo has a lot of things to offer. I hope it is chosen. Should result in some nice changes near my place.

Chicago may win. It is not the best of the three because every venue would be spread around the city. I say they will win because of Obama fever. He's a celebrity and everyone wants to . . . emmm . . . cuddle up to him. Oh, they have Oprah pushing it too. Star power (Chicago) vs a great choice (Tokyo), Chicago wins.

Chicago is a very dangerous city (south part).

Hosting Olympics here in Tokyo is a very big "HYPOCRITICAL" event, its disgusting to host an event which theme is uniting all countries in the world by camaraderie , when the real situation is foreigners living here are required to have a micro chip inside their "ALIEN"cards (where it can be possibly monitored where the card holder is ) with some realty companies wont accept foreigners , for other reasons ... tokind1 said them all! it's all about money for Ishihara! give it to a country who are more international freindly ! Why does Japan deserve Olympics anyway!????? I think the reasons for " why not to do it here " are more than why "it can be" ....

Honestly, I hope that Tokyo DOESN'T get the 2016 Olympics: the J-Media will never let us hear the end of it. Though I'm from the USA, I sincerely hope Rio gets the 2016 Games: South America has never hosted an Olympics, and in my opinion, it is way past time for it to happen.

Further reason for not wanting Tokyo to get the 2016 Games: Gov. Ishihara. This man is an out-and-out racist, and if he lands the games, he'll be hailed as a hero of sorts (but in reallity, wil be a hypocrite of the worst kind). His attitude is horrible towards foreingers, and Tokyo getting the games while he is governor would be a slap in the face of all things decent......then again, Beijing being awarded last year's games was a slap in the face of human rights. Who knows? In light of all that, maybe Tokyo WILL win, despite Ishihara's racism....but I hope not....
