the players were tested as well as the staff.

Then why does one group have to wear masks and the other not?

Ideally we should all be wearing masks; tested or not. Standard protocol. However, it's kind of difficult to play a volleyball game when masked up. Exceptions have to be made for participating athletes, whether they be baseball players, 100 meter sprinters, etc.

Or they can just start vaccinating people in Japan. That would really help. You know, like other countries have been doing for months now.

They sure get close to each other at the net. Plastic shielded net?

This game was fun to watch but then I read how many people died day of. My interest in watching the game degraded.

Isn't it strange the winner of this test match is not mentioned...?

I imagine it's just as difficult to referee a match when wearing a mask

I think not. One entails the need to gasp for lungfuls of air lest you die of asphyxiation, the other to make decisions. If I were asked to either run a marathon or give a speech maskless, I'm pretty sure I'd choose the former. One may well be difficult, the other potentially life threatening.

There are some high flow sports masks available; washable, with interchangeable filters and exhalation valves. I use them for squash. Depending on where you buy them from, they cost between ¥2,800 and ¥3,600.

But definitely no good for diving!
