Tokyo Gov Yuriko Koike, center, Tokyo Olympic Games organizing committee president Seiko Hashimoto (on Koike's left) and Japan Sports Agency commissioner Koji Murofushi (on Koike's right), are joined by Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic athletes and volunteers Saturday for a ceremony at the National Stadium to mark the first anniversary of the Games' start. A parade was also held. Koike touted the "many legacies" of the Olympics. "Because of these games, Tokyo is standing at a new start line," she said.

Sod their Olympics. Was the worst ever and they should be ashamed. Not having a commemorative event.

Some might say picture of the year!

Some must have a very low bar.

Jaoanese taxpayers have paid enough already for these Olympics and more money was wasted with this pointless event. No doubt such a large gathering helped spread coronavirus like it did during the Olympics. Lessons are never learnt. Sadly sad!

The one thing not to forget is how the government undercounted COVID infections to create the illusion that the game could be done safely for months and months. Results, needless deaths of Japanese for the sake of Dentsu and its clients to make up their lost investments in the failed Games.

What a calamity.

The huge cost.......the locals hardly remember it one year on.

The legacy is debt, more debt and even more debt on top pf that, not to mention the JOC being involved in more than a bit of corruption.

The most forgettable games ever and rightly so.

From day one.....Tokyo's bid wasn't what the people wanted only J-Inc wanted them to squeeze the locals for everything they had.

Yeah, one year and what have they got to show for it? Debt.
