Outnumbered

It looks to me that only Kan and Obama are enthusiastic about this meeting. The rest of the people in this meeting sure looks a bit bored.

I like the way the photographer (or editor) cut out Obama's aides.

Darn. And I really wanted to see Obama's aides too.

Is Obama enquiring that the person 2nd from left is awake?

I hope that the Japan delegates didn't get into a hotel with bedbugs. There is an infestation in NYC now, and its causing a big problem.

LOL. I hope they did, then they can bring them back to Japan.

Is it just me, or does the aide sitting closest to Kan, obviously his translator, look about 16?

There's more people at this meeting than there were at Kan's speech the other day...

They titled this "outnumbered"?? There are tons of pics on the net showing Obama's aides on his right, not photoed here of course. To be fair, there are even more Kan aides than this photo shows. A few were cut out.

Obama is giving all of them an English lesson.

The meeting lasted about 15 minutes. Its a conclave of country heads. They are all going thru the picture opportunity with each other.

Maehara looks happy because he knows he's going to be PM sooner or later.

"My Lord, we ready to receive your instructions"

Oh, and so now we know after Japan has decided to release the Chinese fishing boat captain what Obama was saying here in this photograph.

Obama was gesturing to the Japanese officials and said, "Nice to see you here sushimen. We can chitchat for 15 minutes, but then I have a 2-hour meeting with the Chinese guys. What the heck are you doing with that boat captain?"

Must be amusing for the Japanese to see that the leader of the free world needs a teleprompter for even minor occasions like this.
