Great service to Pachinko Players at 04.23AM JST (hardly any on JT, i guess) though opening time for the parlors is 10.00am

It doesn't matter how bad the recession is, pachinko parlors are always full of men spending their money at all hours of the day (when they should be working or looking for a job). I suppose it provides an escape for a few hours.

I wonder what Leah Dizon is up to these days. Is she still married to the guy whose baby she had? I think his name was Ban.

problem... 1: Everything in Japan is put on a stage with an actor or tarento for release... is there another way to present? 2: Pachinko ruins lives (lost pension/welfare money, neglected kids, cancer, crime) 3: That dude's suit needs to be burned

I do not know how they can hear inside a pachinko parlor. It's madness !!! Alot of women and men play these stupid machines. I guess it is as addictive as slot machines.

Why did they make his suit pants so short? Horrible turn-up job on the cuffs too. Looks like he is standing on tiptoes to try to be a bit taller than Leah Dizon, who this is also a really unflattering photo of.

This will boost the export market, you can see all the countries lining up now, wonder where and when the American and European launch will be.

She still exists?

Needlesstosay Japanese men and even tarento and such, have no fashion sense. I know if I was on TV or making an appearance, I would wear a properly tailored suit at least. Good for a quick laugh in the morning, thanks JT.

guess this means thousands of "old" machines are either headed for the ditches & fields of Jpn or piled up in some lot making jpn look more beautiful!

Is it just me or does it look like she has aged about 20 years over the last few months?

Why is dummed down to 'Star Blazers'? I think anyone on this site should/would know what Uchuu Senkan Yamato is.

IT looks like he,s wearing my bedroom slippers, also he,s standing on his toes trying to keep height with whoever she is...

Good point - I'm sure more would know than would know what Star Blazers is....

I'm quite surprised she's still around - I thought she had joined Billy Blanks as a failed sensation from the west.

why are these short ugly men always dressed up in the worst possible clothing??? comedy in this country needs an injection of sarcasm and it needs to get over the same lame, physical comedic antics like dressing up in loud outfits and/or coming on stage in underwear.

I'm not sure that you can say that Leah Dizon is a 'singer'. She made her name as a bikini model.

Who is the old lady on the right?

Another one of Japanese double standards, gambling is illegal but pay the right people off and it's all okay.

I also thought pachinko was illegal/heavily frowned upon here. Now celebrities are endorsing it? Is pachinko cool now?

Nope, it's seen as a Japanese tradition now since the Yakuza pay off everyone. They have TV commercials and TV programs about it.

Is that Leah Dizon? She looks 10 years older.

That is not a pachinko machine, that is a slot machine. Pachinko works with balls, that has the 3 red buttons that you use to stop the reels spinning. Not pachinko.

What's up with that dude's hems? Does he think he's still got some growing to do?

It's not a traditional pachinko machine no, but here in Japan this kind of machine is called a "pachi-suro" because they are designed to fit in the space that a normal pachinko machine sits and because they are found mostly in pachinko parlors/halls. The box on which the machine is sitting int he photo actually says, "Pachi-Suro Uchuu Senkan Yamato."

His socks should throw a party and invite his trousers down.

pachinko machines were originally made in the usa and exported to japan; one expert told me

Get out of my face with that crap, Loveusa. Try asking my wife if I treat her as an object.

Pachinko culture is another gift from USA to Japan.

I cannot get over the hem.

Leah Dizon is little more than an object in the public light. She sells herself as an object to be looked at and admired (ostensibly). That's her job and how she earns a living. It isn't inappropriate at all to comment on her appearance when the way she looks is precisely why she was chosen to promote this machine. If Dizon can accept a bundle of money to look attractive in front of the cameras then 'bicultural' has every right to tell us how much he feels she isn't attractive. Fair is fair.

BTW, you comment regularly on how good looking someone is (e.g. Kotooshu). That's treating someone as an object too. It cuts both ways.

Absolutely. Of course he does. And people reading his posts have every right to tell us how much they feel his comments aren't attractive. Fair is fair.

There's nowt wrong with the way the girl looks.

Admiring someone because of his inner and outer beauty and putting him on pedestal is not treating smeone as an object. It hurts a lot if you call a woman ugly. i think the photograph and light is not so good.
