Neeeeext!

I think she is cute, and her style is quite spectacular.. not for normal folks.

This little girl was interesting at first, but I have quickly tired of seeing her. Unfortunately she is seen more and more often on TV these days.

So banal.

Wow! Wow! "Any publicity, even bad publicity, is better than no publicity."

arrrrrrrr my eyes!

So cute!

Way too "artsy" for my taste. Yet she has a pretty good size following in Japan.

This is like Lady Gaga, toned down for 3 year olds.

Looked on youtube... again Japan you have the worst taste in "music". Can't call that music to be honest. Pop is horrible.

Time must move slower in Japan becasue her 15 minutes should have been up a long time ago.

The omnipresent nasal, grating, tone-deaf, irritating voice stops me from perceiving much else about most Japanese female pop singing. Every once in awhile I check back to see what's there, and it's just this same old neighborhood karaoke-box whining...going on 30 years now. Japanese voices need a better paradigm.

@wolfpack: Not only Japan, I hear she has a huge following allover the world, even gave a concert in France.

I prefer this girl over smap or exile any day.

If you put it that way, this girl is awesome!

AKB wannabe......

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

She forgot to cover her face too.

The plague continues...........aaagghh!

I'm sure people will always have opinions, but if my information is correct this young girl designs her own clothes, choreographs her performances and sells products of her own ideas/designs. Not bad for a 19 year old. Certainly has been more productive & famous than I ever was at the same age! Criticizing others are much easier than actually producing/achieving something like she has no matter how debatable the quality is.

I hope they don't try to present this to other nations as 'Japanese cultural'. Pamyu, or Japan's Gaga wannabe, is a joke, and the fact that she's so successful is not saying a lot for the people. Credit is due for her designing her own stuff, but that's not saying a lot given the finished product.

@ eye

If that's true I feel kind of guilty posting my earlier comment. It doesn't mean I like her style, but if she's following her dream, then all the best to her.

lol. Actually it's not that much worse that most of the stuff professional designers produce... she could probably get a job with Issey Miyake.

Psy is the current model for global success - invent a silly dance everyone can copy and some words eveyone can repeat, even if no one knows what they mean - & bingo, jackpot. Whoever thought of 'Knees up - Mother Brown', thought of it first. This gal has done her best, overkill in the wardrobe dept. wont cut the mustard..but a title that will scare everyone enough, wherever it appears as a news headline, will get her noticed & talked about, when the wardrobe fails.

Simon Cowell needs to get in on this with a show called Japans Got No Talent.

another trash :)

Gaga, Minaj, Pamyu. All we need is a Latin American, a Western European, an Eastern European, and a South East Asian and we have a super group.

Female asian popstars; she's 19, there is only one of her, and she has not shaved her head. I'd call that an improvement in role models.

Not my cup of sake but I have to respect her.

Wow, so many music experts.

I'd rather listen to Japanese female pop singers than any number of rap, R&B or wet boy band stuff any day.

I love reading the pretentious highbrow put downs of Kyari here. It's amazing how anyone thinks that reporting what they like or don't like means anything to anyone else. Kyari is tremendously popular around the world for simply wearing decora cloths and lip-syncing catchy cute songs. That just seems to annoy some people who can't seem to keep themselves from watching Kayri Pamyu, and offending their delicate cultural sensitivities. A pity.

Thats what they like here in Japan , they like voices that are "kawaii" more than singers that have "mature" voice, if you dont understand that , then you dont know Japan to well , but , if you really want " mature " voice, then , you can listen Kalafina, Utada Hikaru , Leo Ieiri , and check Ono Erena http://vimeo.com/60692156, she sings mix , mature and kawaii style.

I hope they don't try to present this to other nations as 'Japanese cultural'.

She is "Kawaii Harajuku Ambassador"

No, thats not his invention , its something Korea music got from American music scene ,and they adapted in perfection , with the help of the Korean goverment founding and everything that is entertainment , so that they can have more " soft power " and "K-pride" .

Don't know if you've been following this site long but there are literally dozens of regular posters here who will put down literally every single thing about Japan. It's quite entertaining to read sometimes.

do you recall those parties where you play with drims and paint?

this style makes me think a lolita dress going to these parties and spraying all the paint in her and her friends...

too much color makes my brain confused... there is not harmony in that
