Hmm! Used to think the problem with people here and their dogs was regarding the dogs as human or as babies far too much.
But then ...

Looks like he is playing on his phone and the dogs do not care.

Beautiful dogs that look well cared for.

@inkochi: In the US, pets are referred to as fur babies by their human moms and dads.

Problem is, far too many of them are tied up outside the house - whatever the weather. Usually with a water bowl just "out of reach"... There are SO many of them around this area, barking out of boredom, or because they have nothing to drink, or the food dish is too far away (probably empty anyway). It's too hot in summer and freezing cold in winter...
There ARE "exceptions" to these "rules" but they are few and far between. Dogs ARE "family" and should be treated as such.

Ha-ha. The dogs appear to think the man wearing the dog costume is not a big deal. Like not one of themselves.

I just wish pets were treated better in Japan. I see so many doges tied up to a 3 foot leash and just left in the same spot 24/7. Never taken for a walk. Never brought inside except for the most extreme weather. Makes me really sad :(
