An employee of Japan's Electronic Vehicle maker Yodogawa, poses in its EV (electric vehicle) car "Meguru" at the Electronic Automotive Technology Expo in Tokyo. The lithium-ion battery powered three-wheeler features a flooring made from real bamboo and fan-shaped doors made from Japanese wood pulp paper.

I agree with LoveUSA - this is a very romantic car! I love it!

If they had lightcycles in the Edo Period this is what it would probably look like.

I guess most of you have never been to the Tokyo Motor Show. This design is no more outrageous than some of the prototypes that are exhibited there.

I'm surprised no one else has noticed that the frame of the vehicle appears to be painted with the same lacquer they use all over Buddhist temples.

can the driver have his legs any wider apart, and what you be lookin' down at love ?
LoveUSA
Usually cars are presented with beautiful women. This picture is something different.

What ya'll don't understand is that, when those fans fold out vertically, this baby can FLY!

what a waste of time and money. why not just make a t-shirt that says "look @ me!!!". so much cheaper and less labor-intensive.
LoveUSA
how much is it?

Reminds me of my favorite kids cartoon... "Whacky races"

I can't help myself. I can't find anything aesthetically pleasing about it. Even the showroom woman seems to be staring at it as if to say "You can't be serious".

I know I can be critical sometimes, but this...thing is not only ridiculous, it's an absolute monstrosity. Adjectives fail me >_<

Is this an early April Fools` joke? Japan is infamous for the wacky and the wierd - but this one takes the biscuit. The wierdest thing I have seen for years. "Global Warming" gone totally through the barrier or lunacy.

Death trap.

i don't think it will do very well in the crash test phase.

I hope that they will not replace rickshaws with that car, can't see any nice legs from it.

Farmboy: If it had doors that provided some real protection and the sides weren't so exposed it might actually be a good vehicle for stop and go work situations.

It's basically a Japanese EV version of a Thai Tuk Tuk. While the design is OK, it still doesn't look practical for production.
borscht
Cool looking car. I see it is built for wide-stance males.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. What happen to the creativeness of the Japanese people? I guess it went down the tubes with people trying to create things that makes no sense at all.
Lunchbox
Looks like Yodogawa hasn't got a design department yet.

One Tokyo downpour and those doors will be gone.
