What is this? The poor cousin to Hitsujiyama in Dasaitama?
This is shibazakura. http://www.bsmap.jp/subhtml/detailsspc/11109001/index.html (readers are to note there's an underbar between sub and html, and details and spc, in the above URL)

Beautiful!

Extremely beautiful. Looks like a magic carpet on which I would like to sleep and see the most wonderful dreams among the sweet aroma of the flowers and humming of the bees. Color therapy for the eyes! thanks to the photographer for the wonderful picture, thanks to JT for understanding that such beautiful pictures make some of the readers happy. I am so tired of talento pictures, give us sweet spring photos of nature, when trees and flowers are waking up for life, such a beautiful season!

If I use one word to describe the picture it would be "melting" (as in melting the heart, melting the senses), it is a breathtaking photo. More of this kind please!

I agree with LoveUSA's comments, especailly the part about not wanting to see so many "talento" pictures - really, who cares? For those needing a practical yet beautiful desktop calendar, the JNTO website has nice offerings. The desktop page for April features Saitama's gorgeous shibazakura mentioned in an earlier post: http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/wallpaper/index.html
