Seeing those pictures so not all old people really support current rulling party but where's young people who should critical about current issue?
Aly Rustom
Good on them! God's speed!
Politik Kills
Yes, where are the young people? Probably slaving away at a low paid job they can’t escape. Seems only the retired class with time and boredom on their hands are the protestors nowadays. Used to be university students ripping the place apart!
Michael Machida
Basically, the people here just do not know what's going on and when you educate them on the fact, they just do not care.

Just seen on the morning wide show calculations that when the cost of security, extra police, fire, medical etc., services from the provinces, accommodation of foreign guests, etc., is included the final bill could be some 10 billion yen.
Pensions have been cut this year because apparently the country can’t afford to pay its pensioners - the people who built the country - what they were promised.
Little wonder the oldies are out protesting this waste of money to be spent on an event over half the population think should not be taking place.
And yes, the young folk are probably unable to get time off work. Doesn’t mean they’re all happy with the shenanigans of the LDP.

the pink sign on the left is pretty brutal. "Even in death he is misusing our taxes"
Dang, I agree though

I get it, sort of, but… why so much coverage? If it cost 10B yen (8 MMUSD) then maybe the cost is bothering folks, but it seems like it is just a ambiguous anti Abe/LDP excuse to protest and stir-up mild controversy. Why not protest & cover something with some real controversy?

Wait! 10B yen is 80MMUSD. That seems like a lot. Lol
Mr Kipling
The tax payers are being asked to fund what is essentially an LDP support event.
An easy fix would be to have a fund set up for his supporters to contribute to. Any left over cash could be used for a statue to be erected at the place he was shot or in the grounds of a school in Osaka.
Andy
Yep, as it says, even in death he is misusing taxes. What a waste of money.

Good job!

I see it pragmatic. We got those corona masks into our letterboxes unwanted and for free, and now the situation has changed a little bit and we are afterwards charged 20 to 80 Yen for it. lol

On TV the other night, they showed a 10-year-o;d kid who apparently wrote to Abe thanking him for his masks.Don't know if it was legitimate or not.
Well done to the folks above.
JRO
Nope they were paid for with our taxes the first time around, right into the pockets of LDP friends and family.
I don't think anyone deserves what happened to him, but if we should pay for someone's funeral there is probably millions of people I rather pay for. Maybe instead have a state funeral for all the children that have died in overheated cars or by domestic violence as a way to highlight a problem.
CKAI
HAHAHA.
I wanna see the next episode. The one they showed the abe mask-maker wharehouse guy, lickin stamps with his assistants and mailin out postcards to all his fans! "Enjoy "tax" masks! Don't worry, you already paid for em. so, pretend its on me. Just as he jumps on the lear jet to paris for the overnight weekend getaway bonanza.
Kanpai!

Thanks for spending 500 million yen in taxes to send everyone a 3 yen mask. Great ideas coming out of the government here...
