Pathetic, making mistakes, bad teeth, bad singing all are seen as cute in Japan, it is not the same overseas.

Darn right it aint the same overseas. Guys want to see talented (female) vocalist, who can dance, got booty & who are all grown-up (over 21).

Not 17 yr olds. Not Akb. Not e-girls, Perfume and and all that other j-pop garbage. Why the HS uniforms? Does the audience find that sexy? Pathetic!

"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot" keep going girls, there's plenty more to protest about.

I hope Japan doesn't think this is acceptable for the Olympics, Japan will be laughed at

by those who know it all.

No, we're too picky and care only about appearances.

Of course, using a bunch of under-aged girls is the perfect way to get people attention. And I don't care if I get negative votes on this statement either.

Under age for what? Being pop idols? Or are you thinking they are there merely to please the pervs? I really despair about the number of people on here who claim these young girls (and groups like them) are under age... They are not being used in a pornographic manner so what does their age have to do with anything? It's about music not sex.

At least they didn't refer to them as "idols".

After watching their performance video, all I can do is SMH. Epic fail for the next generation.

I don't know for you people, but I really hate the fact that Japan needs to put high school girls in uniforms in everything they do. Like if they had no identity other than being a "JK".

Good grief. I would be straight on the phone to my editor to get me the hell outa here.

Here is footage of their performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUY951W_oDY

As long as they stay true to the message and do not get commercialized in the process.... more power to them.

Ignorant git.

You look like a paedo. Twat.

Harvey, given they are all in matching school uniforms i doubt they came up with this themselves...... Still, i guess some people think Japan can get by without nukes or object to the way Fukushima is being dealt with. in which case this is the group for them (or they could follow AKB or Chubbiness or the like...)

The uniforms on thee girls are full regulation dress code and it looks smart! It looks much better than those public high school trouts getting around Tokyo with their bum hanging out their skirt and eye make up that makes them look like camels. I work in a private high school with similarly strict dress codes and I like it! All the male teachers and students must wear a tie all year and the girl students must wear a sweater or vest. It's a very studious look and it avoids any unwanted attention. I dunno how far they are going to get with their protest against nuclear power though. They'll be smothered pretty quickly by their peers. Good luck to them.

The local paedophiles will be having a great day.

According to the DSM 4, a paedophile is a person who has sexual attraction to individuals that have NOT YET reached puberty. I do believe these girls are old enough to be past that point. Ignorant git.

If it's something these girls came up with on their own and are really passionate about this, I think this is awesome. We need the younger generation to care more since they'll be the ones living in the mess the older generation is creating for them.

Sing, dance, great! Get the word out!

But I can't say the name "Seifuku Kojo Iinkai" is catchy.

What would a counter-culture look like? I betray my idealism by asking this question. Certainly it doesn't look like this.

i can only imagine what the music and words of this "protest song" are like. you can see the sincerity and emotion with which they are singing all over their faces and the way they express their outrage thru the medium of dance is also obvious.

What? No hazmat suits? Or since its Japan, a combination of skirthazmat suits!

at least some talent here is speaking out. need more of this.

Thy should take the opportunity to remind Abe and co. that they gave them the power to vote at 18

This is sure to give the Iranian Nuclear Accord a boost.

I must say, those are pretty dour uniforms for a group sporting that kind of name.
