replica=an accurate reproduction of an object, this one seems Bonsai !

This replica was made in France. I've heard that there are replicas at several places in France and also one in Las Vegas besides in New York.

Replicas can be smaller... I guess scale model would be a better term though.
Odaiba is a beautiful place at night... I took a very similar image myself just before the new year:

At night, no-one cares that the water is black.

i believe this one is the original - the one in new york is a replica

I've seen the very old photo of the original first statue made in France. One in New York was something different on shape from one that French sculptors made long time ago. I don't know whether one in New York is original or not. Who cares. Let's enjoy seeing it.

A picture says a thousand words. It explains the Japanese now. I often wonder what Japan or the world would be like if they won the Pacific. As you know they were not a democracy....and they rejected it until 1945.

And your post clocked in at about 45 words, but I still have no idea what they meant.

Great PHOTO! I have seen it too many times from this angle though--I would love to see it in a different angle. For more Tokyo photos visit www.eduography.com

meanmutha - Gosh, you sure know how to put a damper on a great photo!

And sit them down at the Pachinko Parlor with a bucket of little balls.

telecaster - oh yeah the statue of liberty and pachinko - only in japan what a pair.

a great photo! though I have taken several shots of that scenery, I must admit that the photographer has a good artistic sense...

There wouldn't be an ugly skyline as seen in the picture I assure you. That Statue of Liberty replica won't be there too, Tokyoites would think of themselves as more dignifying than emulating whatever America does.

Odaiba is beautiful at night, and a walk in the Kaihin Park is highly recommended for a date, I was always successful with that trick. Especially cause I live nearby :)

I like this part of Tokyo and I had a nice picture too. I would give many things to come back the time. I miss Japan with all my heart.

It took so many years for the Statue of Liberty " walked" from US to Japan. Now its Japan 's turn to spread freedom and democracy around the world so unle Sam can take a rest?
meanmutha
I was misunderstood. Great photo indeed and its just the ironic side of the big lady representing liberty and democracy. My apologies.

great, very luxury, maybe japan is a no.2 of newyork and we can find a freedom too in there not only in newyork.
