Incoming Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (3rd L) poses with the Liberal Democratic Party's newly appointed senior executives, during a news conference in Tokyo on Tuesday. Abe unveiled a new party line-up on Tuesday that includes women in key posts in an effort to show that the long-dominant party was turning over a new leaf. The party executive members are (L-R) Seiko Noda, head of the party's general council; LDP Vice President Masahiko Komura, Abe, Secretary-General Shigeru Ishiba, policy chief Sanae Takaichi and Election Bureau Director-General Takeo Kawamura.

I must say I will hold the wisecracks and jokes on this one. Looks like a good balanced match. I hope something comes of it with Abe's second time around too... I see a slight glimpse of hope.

no point in complaining about him, now. I just hope he can fix Japan's most serious issues. Good Luck, soon-to-be-again Prime Minster Shinzo Abe and the LDP.

Another dysfunctional cabinet in office!!

Will they actually make any change that will benefit the people in Japan???

Well, we will just have to wait and see.

as for me, Im not betting anything on this cabinet. Im sure Abe will soon resign due to stress and illness..

Secretary-General Shigeru Ishiba is a military geek (Gunji-otaku) who loves to play with models of aircrafts and ships. He wanted Japan to join the US in the illegal invasion of Iraq. He's twice lost in elections for LDP party president, but look for this hawk to try again. This kind of guy has a fascination for the military and for war, but no doubt far from the front lines. His type would have other people's sons and daughters die for the sake of his ego and pride.

I think they just might be the kick-in-the-pants Japan needs.

Or, it is the beginning of the end!

Ready to take over what? And their campaign slogan "Take back Japan" -- what are they taking back exactly?

Will Abe be able to take Japan back to military aggression?

How many American troops are going to be taken back into war now that Japan is lead by right-wing hawks with fictional views of history?

How many compensation payments to Fukushima evacuees will be taken back?

For some reason this reminds me of that song by the Who....
