Recalling a fateful day

Never quite understood why the assassination of an American president (even this one) should be of any international interest.

Seems just another American event we'll never be allowed to forget because....it was an American event.

I used to work at the Dallas Morning News and would go through Dealey Plaza every day. There is a great museum on the 6th floor where Oswald shot Kennedy from. From visiting there and walking the site many times, there is no doubt that Oswald could have easily hit a slow-moving target from that short distance to the street. That plaza area and Grassy Knoll are also smaller in real life than you might imagine. My paper even publicized Kennedy's motorcade route the day before. All those conspiracy authors who are selling their books in Dealey Plaza have made a ton of money off their theories, but if you get the chance, go there and take a look for yourself.

That's the whole intinerary? Just two people? I guess Japanese tourists are easy to please.

The article states that they are there for Super Bowl week. The Super Bowl is not until 6 Feb. The teams that will be playing there have not even been determined yet. There is still the Pro-Bowl that will go on before the Superbowl.

The press and all of the pre-game activities will not even begin until the week of 1-5 Feb.

So as I stated, they have an awful long wait before the real activities begin. If I could sell that kind of vacation package to someone, two weeks before the event begins, I guess I would be a rich man.

They have a long vacation. Superbowl is not until 2 weeks away. I hope that they go visit other locations in Texas. 2 weeks is too long to just stay in Dallas.
