I suppose the "riot squad" have to do something to fill their days.

When was the last riot in Japan? Not in the 30 years, I have lived here.

The Shinjuku riot was a violent clash between police and anti-Vietnam War protesters who occupied Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, Japan, on 21 October 1968.

The Todai Riots: 1968-69.

The black lab at the back looks particularly threatening. Does he knock over rioters with a swift wag of the tail?

Let me channel some Rodney Dangerfield folks....I went to a riot squad march and a hockey game broke out!

Impressive, however where is the riot?

I guess it is wise to be forewarned is forearmed.

Maybe that worked well some decades ago, but nowadays? Are they really prepared? A cheap drone from the toy shop filled with acid from a schoolchildren’s chemistry set and they are all completely done. And even if they could shoot it down it doesn’t become so much better too, and also not, if then the dogs come near it to attack. Or if some people throw packages with needles, pins, nails and such? Maybe the boots can stand it some meters, but the accompanying dogs? No, that’s only for show or own psychological encouragement but in fact they aren’t really prepared if something happens that is a little bit different from the academy’s teaching books.

Are those dogs trained to attack? Put them to sth better for example to look for substance or bombs or people under the debris...
