I'm guessing that if this woman has a robot stage-name it would be R2doubleD2.

How about scantily clad robots instead?
Saiaku

I don't want to go to any restaurants if something like this is happening all the time. I can't relish food quietly.
paulinusa
kwatt: Doubt anyone goes there for the food.
CrazyJoe
Those tentacles (straps) do appeal.

I still don't get it. I thought robots are serving food and with dancing show. What is robot restaurant? Is that strip show?
ReformedBasher
I'd like to have a better look at some of those interfaces.

The Robot Restaurant is more of a cabaret show. They serve drinks plus you get a small, but tasty, combini type bento with admission. The show contains everything I love about Japan. Pretty girls, robots, dinosaurs, and even Kung Fu Panda! A lot of WTF-ery and a whole lot of fun! Note there are women in the audience who enjoyed it too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtshzvVMCMs<>

Is robot some sort of new key word?

Uh, waiter? Table for one, please.

I went there last week, it's a lot of fun. Combination of cabaret and robot wars. Lots of bright lights, lots of scantily clad women, lots of fake robots (most of them have people inside). It's nicely choreographed and very very silly in a good way. The food is just a bento but really, who's going there to eat?
ADK99
Oh, and it's not a strip club. Bikinis, no more. (Or less, depending on how you look at it)
nath
ADK99, how were the prices? To you pay to eat, or watch?
ADK99
5,000 to get in, which includes your bento. You're definitely paying to watch, and if you're not interested in the show then you absolutely shouldn't go. Drinks are pretty cheap, 500 yen for namas and I think 300 or 400 for chuhi.

Saw it this past summer. Overpriced, crazy, one of those only-in-Japan things. The food is a bland bento even 7-11 would be ashamed of. On the other hand beer was a reasonable 500 yen and the girls, as u can see, were all hotties.
Lilic
Most expensive bento box you will get in Shinjuku.
blackrock
where are the bots :-? I only see boobs
CGB Spender
Looks like a scene taken right out of Johnny Mnemonic.
Laguna
Never have robots so made me want to do it by hand.
Tamarama
That's absolutely great.

It's hard to call this a restaurant. Like the posts above, you get a bento of lower quality than most conbini. It is more like a small scale las vegas revue show. It was entertaining, but I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon. I would say that 90% of the crowd seemed to be tourists.
Shinjuku No Yaju
The show is actually REALLY good. Surprising so

Do you work there, Glenn?
I went to this place a few weeks ago. Honestly, I was skeptical, but it was fairly entertaining. Good (though) expensive place to bring out of town visitors for a "This is the crazy side of Japan" experience. The food sucked, though. The audience was a curious mix of tourists, residents, and creepy old men with cameras that probably knew the dancers by their first names.

Is this a robotayaki restaurant?
