@Yubaru: You already know I am not intelligent. I know Samsung helps S Korean problems. I don;t know it helped Japanese problems or not. right now, it is trying to figure how it will pay copycat and patent infringement lpenalty US Court penalized on it/ How many 100 million dollars? There was an article on Business or tech board ( forgot when but just few days ago JT article). Maybe this Roppongi project is just promotion of its name? But it seems Tokyo people enjoyed.

Samsung financed this event ! @Yubaru, send your nagging letter to Samsung.

Samsung could have just as easily "sponsored" helping the refugees in Tohoku instead. There would be a hell of a lot more good will being felt that way than this!

@globalwatcher: He wrote about substantial housing, etc.. Not Love Joy Peace.

globalwatcher understood what it meant Toshiko. Intelligent folks know how to read between the lines. There would be more Love, Joy, and Peace towards Samsung if they had helped those in need rather than waste money on this display.

While thousands shiver in substandard housing and are faced with another winter without any hope.

He was referring to a Christmas spirit of LOVE-JOY-PEACE. Hope you read a heart warming book of Christmas carol. Carol.

Just goes to show that Japan still gets so much right and that Samsung is supporting it is a smart move on their part. Tokyo is still one of the cosmopolitan and yes, beautiful cities in the world bar none!

I for one love Japan's winter illuminations. Beautiful! While the money could have been spent elsewhere, most likely R&D or company bonuses, it's nice that at least people not working for the sponsoring company can enjoy the festive lighting. All you bitter critics could use a little bit of lightening up. Happy holidays!

Beautiful yes, but completely devoid of the "spirit of Christmas"..

I thought that in the wake of a power crisis, Japan was supposed to be saving electricity?

Sponsored by Samsung. Changing times. @Yubaru Exactly. Pointless, gaudy and frankly obscene. That goes for any country, whether 'Christian' or not.

Pretty but marketing only since Christmas is not celebrated in Japan. I would rather save the electricity to be honest
