Is there really a need to wear a mask if there is nobody around you, especially for a photo shoot? Even those in the background can't be bothered to wear one.

It's definitely a Royal message to the people: BE CAREFUL. DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILIES.

Did she graduate by herself? Oh, right, no big social gatherings. So, what is that herd of kids behind her doing there? They get forced out because they aren't ''royalty?''

Congratulatiions to her on her graduation!

If she hadn't worn a mask, people would have whined about how she was setting a bad example.

How do you know all the students don't line up in order to have their photo taken by the graduation banner?

I hope she has fabulous next step planned :)

They'll all be having a turn getting their photo by the sign at the entrance. Hardly worth the risk of taking the mask off and putting it back on just for that shot. The mask will be part of the memory / history of the day.

I really hope she gets out of Japan for the next phase of her life and gets a chance to do a gap year somewhere where she can taste some freedom. All the best to her.

Pukey2 some people are allergic to pollen (not just covid). Thats why they were mask.

That mask photo of her special day is just hideous. Could she not have removed it for thirty seconds? Plus, paper masks are ineffective for the Coronavirus. She is encouraging the populace to believe in the mystery masks, which is not responsible. Pollen is another matter but does she have a problem with pollen?

And a photo-shoot can last for five seconds.

My hay fever during childhood was severe, but I never wore a mask.
