what's the point of the military salute ?

Do not think it is good for Japanese people to salute a Russian flag . . . .

Absolute farce that Russians are able to participate in team events. They should have been put with the refugees and formed a non-team team.

Really. Who are those people, why are they there and what are they doing? They're clearly not looking at the flags, so what are they looking at?

As I understand it, they can’t compete under the Russian flag or use their anthem because of the doping scandal, but those who were not among the people using drugs can compete as individuals. The individuals formed a group called Russian Olympic (Committee?) and worked the colors of their flag into their uniforms.

Does anyone really think they don't represent Russia? No. THAT's the problem. If the goal was to penalize Russia, this didn't work.
