Sakura Line

Participants in Sakura Line 311 plant a cherry blossom tree near an elementary school in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, on Saturday. Some 130 volunteers took part in the planting of trees along the line where the tsunami reached on March 11, 2011. The line of cherry blossoms will serve as a reminder of the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and as a caution for the future. For more information, click here.
