Ditch the mask, dude!!! Please, JT, use photos without these useless masks. Showing a mask-wearer just reinforces the myth that they are useful. Check the science at CDC and other scientific sources.

That is most likely haya-zakura, the early blossoming variety. The prediction for the somei-yoshino variety 'blossoming front' in Tokyo area is sometime around March 19th; early this year as mentioned by Zichi.
