Hitachi unveils a new version of the humanoid robot EMIEW2 that can converse while easily scooting around people on broken ground and can recognize and process human voices. Continual xenophobia and paranoia rides on his every success. Well funded no doubt.

I find this sad. Why not have a conversation with an actual person? 6 billion on the planet and that's too difficult huh? People might have opinions but keep this up and soon the robots will too and then where will you be?

Robot technology is still in its infancy, but Japanese industry has made great strides. Only a couple generations in R&D before robots that can be effective in helping in major disasters to compliment search dogs. A lot of uses are on the horizon.

The future of Japan without human beings is not that far off. Honestly, building robots is more important than the lack of of real face to face interaction, no wonder why the birthrate is so low. God bless Japan.
