Hitachi unveils a new version of the humanoid robot EMIEW2 that can converse while easily scooting around people on broken ground and can recognize and process human voices. Standing 80 cms tall and weighing just 14 kgs, EMIEW2 was developed as part of Hitachi's efforts to create a service robot with diverse communication functions that could safely coexist with humans while conducting necessary services.

The future of Japan without human beings is not that far off. Honestly, building robots is more important than the lack of of real face to face interaction, no wonder why the birthrate is so low. God bless Japan.

Robot technology is still in its infancy, but Japanese industry has made great strides. Only a couple generations in R&D before robots that can be effective in helping in major disasters to compliment search dogs. A lot of uses are on the horizon.

I find this sad. Why not have a conversation with an actual person? 6 billion on the planet and that's too difficult huh? People might have opinions but keep this up and soon the robots will too and then where will you be?
