Apparently, the average first snow is on October 3rd.

No mention of the timing. If it were later than average there would be be harping about climate change. It must be earlier than average.

Uhm, Chamonix is in the middle of a large alpine mountain range crossing several countries and about 1,000km further north than Fuji.
