Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) sailors form words that read "THX GWA" on the deck of Japan's biggest warship, Izumo, as it sails to send off the USS George Washington, near Boso Peninsula, east of Tokyo, on Monday. The USS George Washington (CVN73), which has been forward deployed to Yokosuka as part of the U.S. Seventh Fleet since 2008, left Japan for the final time on Monday. It will be replaced by the USS Ronald Reagan in late summer, according to U.S. and Japanese officials.© Japan Today
